The reason the Agency split his personality was not to protect him from being killed. It was to keep him from giving information to the enemy.
This show had potential. An interesting plot with some pretty good actors. It is too bad that networks do not give a show time to develop. The only flaw in the show for me was that it seemed to put too much into one show -- but that is only a minor flaw.
This show is stupid. It never had any potential and what kind of a stupid secret agent makes two sides to himself? How is it not completely obvious that that will cause problems? Why does making yourself a separate person but look the same make it any less likely that you will be killed? All I have to say is thank god this was cancelled because it was a total waste of TV. Christian Slater is ugly.
Yes, the show is over. It has gotten to the point where there is no good tv anymore. My Own Worst Enemy is a great show that actually makes you think. Maybe we need another reality show...NOT.
I love this show ... I love that Christian Slayter is back and I think he has done an amazing job with these characters... I heard on my local radio show this show was being cancelled I wil be very disappointed if this show is taken off..

Although I love CSI's I agree there way too many of those shows... including all the same style shows.. Criminal Minds... Eleventh Hours etc...

I feel this is one of the more original shows that has been introduced...

Is the viewing public really loosing creativy and imagination in the shows they watch that they must either be "cookie cut" or some mind numbing reality show!?

How Sad.
I LOVED THE SHOW FROM THE BEGINNING, & SAW THE ENORMOUS POTENTIAL! I THINK IT'S INSANE THAT THERE ARE 25 STUPID CSI'S, COLDCASE (THE SHOW), ETC, ALL CHEAP CRUD TO PRODUCE, ON 24/7! AXE THEM! "MY OWN WORST ENEMY" AND "STUDIO 60 ON THE SUNSET STRIP" GOT CANCELLED BEFORE REALLY BEING GIVEN A CHANCE. "MY OWN WORST ENEMY" WAS NOT IN THE BEST TIME SLOT.

WHO MADE THOSE DECISIONS? IF VIEWERS WHO PREFER IDIOTIC CSI SHOWS CHOSE, THEN THIS COUNTRY IS FULL OF IDIOTS! WELL, WE ALSO HAVE HAD TOO MANY YEARS OR THIEVING, LYING, IMMORAL, RICH-WAR-MONGERING REPUBLICANS IN OFFICE FOR TOO LONG UNTIL NOW; THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN AXED (FIGURATIVELY) LONG AGO.

TOO BAD WE HAVE LOST A COUPLE MORE REALLY FUN, INTRIGUING, INTERESTING SHOWS WITH VERY TALENTED CAST.
Seems highly unlikely that they would continue to send Edward on these missions when they know he could turn into Henry at any time.
The show had great potential to me. It's a shame that it's ending so soon. I guess that's Television for you.
Already cancelled, and of course, Jumptheshark under new management doesnt change the site.
"My Own Worst Enemy" has been canceled.
Agreed with FredW

Ep4 crushes what's left of my willing suspension of disbelief.

My Own Worst Enemy Jumped the Shark when the writers wimped out one what "terminate" means.

Agents are highly trained, and ultimately expensive assets. The idea that an unwitting cover persona who knows nothing is somehow able to protect the company better than the trained agent is ludicrous in the first place.

But lets go with that premise : possibly the fact a captured agent in "civilian mode" can't be forced to divulge information he doesn't know is sufficient justification for the incredible expense of implanting that chip in his brain.

Then we're told that "broken agents can't be fixed" - which is why there's a termination order out on any who do break.

Presumably being broken is a terrible security hole, which is why the "Boss man" is so eager to terminate anyone he suspects might be broken (with extreme prejudice and no hope of rehabilitation of the victim)

Then we're told by Edwards Girlfriend (the shrink) that the fake FBI guy was going to kill Henry because he was broken. It certainly looked like he was about to, pointing a gun at his head like that.

But then the female agent at the end of the show is "terminated" by erasing her and leaving only the "civilian"

This flies in the face of everything we already know :
Once you're broken, they can't "fix" you. If you can erase the _original_ mind (as they explain it, the agent *is* the original) and leave the "constructed" mind behind, why can't you do the reverse? It seems silly to expect that the process which implants a false identity results in a stronger persona than the original. It was far better when "terminate" meant "kill".

Now they had to have Edward inject himself with some lame "isotope" that will kill Henry if they use the mindwipe on them. Lame.

So disappointed with this show - it started out well enough.
Yet another NBC show that is on 10pm on mondays cancelled during its first or second season. First studio 60 on the sunset strip and then journeyman now this. Altho not as good as the other two MOWE is pretty good. Lesson is not to get involved with any show that is scheduled at 10pm on mondays on NBC.
The first episode was a great one-off.

This morning it was eaten by the SHARK!
"Rumor Control" has stated that "My Own Worst Enemy" has been canceled.
I think Slater is great in this show. The premise of the show has some seriously awesome potential, but the writing sucks. It's taking way too long for the show to develop. By now Henry should be cool with things and looking forward to being a spy. It's stupid that this guy is trying to sabotage himself. Why isn't the "spy" company getting Henry some training? Am I suppose to believe that his cell phone isn't tapped and these people who created him aren't listening in on his calls? They plant a microchip in his brain but no sort of GPS? They could have made this show so much cooler. Chuck rules.
